Admissions Criteria

GPA
• Applicants should have an overall GPA of “A” or better.
   Class of 2015       3.75 Overall GPA

• Applicants should have a science GPA of “B” or better.
   Class of 2015       3.66 Science GPA

DAT
• Applicants should have DAT scores of 18 or better.
   Class of 2015       20.30 DAT Academic Average
   Class of 2015       20.04 DAT Total Science Average
   Class of 2015       20.82 DAT Perceptual Ability

BACHELOR’S DEGREE
A bachelor’s degree, prior to admission, is preferred.
Most applicants apply after completing 3 years of
   undergraduate study.

 

CREDIT HOURS
An individual may apply to our program after successful completion of
   90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours.
Applicants are rarely admitted with less than 120 quarter hours or 96
   semester hours completed.

REQUIRED COURSES
2/3 of prerequisite courses must be completed prior to submitting the AADSAS application.
• Prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
• The more prerequisites completed at the time the application is submitted, the better. 
Preference is given to those with the most number of prerequisite courses completed.
• Prerequisites in progress at the time of application submission are not considered complete.
Semester courses – 9 of 13 must be completed prior to applying.
Quarter courses – 10 of 14 must be completed prior to applying.
 

UNDERGRADUATE MAJORS
Predentistry students choose an undergraduate major as they start college.
Predentistry students may choose from variety of undergraduate majors.
Dentistry prerequisite course work is then integrated into that academic program.
The major should prepare the student for a people-oriented profession.
A strong science core such as biology or chemistry is extremely beneficial.
