DAT Requirements

All applicants must complete the Dental Admission Test (DAT). Testing should be scheduled shortly after you have taken the required courses in Biology and Chemistry (General/Organic).

All applicants must complete the DAT no later than October 1st of the admissions year to be considered for a seat in the entering class.

Please consult the Dental Admission Test 2011  Guide (45 pages) at http://www.ada.org/dat.aspx.  A testing checklist and F.A.Q. concerning the DAT are found on the same site.  Please note that the DAT fee is $320 and the procedure for requesting score reports changes.  The changes are detailed on the webpage listed above.

IMPORTANT

All applicants must submit their scores to AADSAS. As long as you select 1 school that participates in AADSAS to send your scores to, AADSAS will send your DAT scores to every school that you apply to.

Effective January 2007 --- applicants who have taken the DAT exam three or more times must apply for special permission to take the test again.
