ALLYSON BOWCUTT

ALLYSON BOWCUTT is thrilled to be part of the Admissions Team, arriving May of 2009.  She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education, an M.A. in Teacher Leadership, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Literature at The Ohio State University.

She has learned much in and out of the classroom; and considers the “classroom of life” to be the most educational, and the most exciting so far.

Allyson and her dental student husband have called Columbus home since 2008.  Autumn is their favorite season; and during that time you will always find them in the stands cheering on their beloved Buckeyes!

When she’s not busy planning a splendid event for Admissions or advising the future academic stars of our Dental School, Allyson enjoys: long runs on the beach, traveling, cookie dough, Nordstrom, tall shoes, Disneyland, fruit smoothies, people,  Buckeye football, photography, and New York Times Bestsellers.

MIKE BRADLEY

Originally from Cambridge, Ohio, MIKE BRADLEY joined the Admissions Team in August 2006.  Mike brings a vast array of skills to the office including information technology support, trouble shooting and computer aided design.  He currently serves as the AClient Database Manager.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys metal working.  He can often be found welding a frame for his custom motorcycle or working on custom cars.  Mike enjoys the fruits of his labors and often takes to the open road on his motorcycle.  In the future, Mike would like to obtain his baccalaureate degree at The Ohio State University in Engineering and then design for a large automotive manufacturing company.

GEORGE DEAN

As of November 2010, George is the newest member of the Admissions Team. George was born in the hills of West Virginia but is proud to call Ohio his home.  He is a graduate of The Ohio State University holding a BA in Elementary Education and a MA in Educational Administration. George returns to Columbus after retiring as a public school administrator. He is excited to stay connected with young people through the admissions process.

George stays busy with family and church service.  He is the father of six and the grandfather of 20 and counting. He loves learning, teaching, reading, apple dumplings, Dr Seuss, genealogy, science fiction, OSU football, and hugs from his grandchildren.  His work philosophy is that he would rather prevent a problem than fix one, and he works hard to do that.  George is known for his friendly and positive attitude.  After all, as the father of two dentists himself, he knows the value of a smile.

DR. LA'TONIA STINER-JONES

DR. LA’TONIA M. STINER-JONES began her undergraduate studies at the University of Dayton as a student-athlete majoring in pre-medicine.  After two years, she transferred to Wright State University, as a student-athlete majoring in biological sciences.  During her senior year, she was invited to join a research laboratory and began working on an undergraduate research project.  During this time, she discovered a passion for research.  She graduated with a B.A. in Biological Sciences and went on to obtain a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Wright State University.

Upon graduation, she took her first postdoctoral position at The Ohio State University, studying the effects of inflammation on spinal cord injury and repair.  Afterward, she took a second postdoctoral position in the College of Dentistry studying neuroendocrine regulation of the immune system.

Dr. Stiner-Jones is the newly appointed Director of Minority Student Recruitment and an Assistant Professor of Oral Biology in the College of Dentistry.

In her spare time, Dr. Stiner-Jones enjoys playing basketball and working out.  She also enjoys flying her miniature helicopter, playing Xbox 360, and bargain shopping.   She is also a firm believer that “there a multiple paths to the same destination” and “that you can move any obstacle with the right lever”.
