When fall semester starts in 2013, the College of Dentistry will

welcome a new crop of dental hygienists seeking Master’s level

education. The Master’s in Dental Hygiene program will be the

first in the state, and its graduates will fill a great need in the

dental community. Five full-time students and two part-time

students will begin coursework in the College of Dentistry's new

Master's in Dental Hygiene program in Fall 2013.

For more information about the program, including application

The Dental Hygiene Program at The Ohio State University

Dental hygiene students and faculty in action
The Dental Hygiene Program at The Ohio State University is the only Dental Hygiene program in Ohio that is affiliated with a dental school. Students have a unique opportunity to prepare for an exciting profession while also completing a baccalaureate program at a nationally recognized university.

In addition to preparation for licensure in dental hygiene, the baccalaureate program prepares students for additional roles of leadership and responsibility in a variety of health care settings.

There
are two tracks leading to the degree Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. The traditional track includes basic sciences and general education courses followed by the professional training required to prepare students for licensure as dental hygienists. Information about this track is provided under Entry Level Dental Hygiene Program.

In add
ition, The Ohio State University offers a Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program for graduates of an ADA accredited dental hygiene program who wish to complete the baccalaureate degree. For more information, go to Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program.
