with the Mark Dawson Staff Award for Excellence.
Lindsey Park, College of Dentistry
pre-clinic lab coordinator, was selected as the recipient of the Mark
Dawson Staff Award for Excellence during the Dean's Appreciation
Party December 15.
"Lindsey supports pre-clinic
programs and treats faculty and students with respect."
The Mark Dawson Staff Award for Excellence is given to provide
recognition within the College of Dentistry for outstanding
contributions made by a full-time regular classified (CCS)
staff member or administrative and professional (A&P) staff member
who significantly facilitates the mission of the college.
"Lindsey supports pre-clinic programs and treats faculty and
students with respect," Dean Lloyd said, as he presented the
award. "One nomination stated, 'I've
never known anyone who has managed the area as well as Lindsey
does.' Another said, 'Her work has left the lab a better place than
it has ever been.'"
This staff award was named in memory of its 2002 recipient, the
late Mark Dawson, who served many years in the dental laboratory and
was valued by many as an outstanding individual.
"I enjoy working in the lab," Park said, as she accepted
the award. "This is unexpected, but
I'm very grateful. Thank you."
Nominations for the award are submitted by staff, students, and/or faculty.
The College of Dentistry's Faculty Council selects the recipient upon review of the nominations.
