The Dental Alumni Society honors a
College of Dentistry alumnus each year with the Distinguished Alumni
Award, which is presented at Post
College Assembly. The award is given to alumni who demonstrate
good character, and who have given outstanding service or other
contributions to the College of Dentistry, to the fields of art and
science, or to organized dentistry. This year's award winner is Dr. David Rummel, a graduate of the class of 1966. Dr. Rummel's many achievements include being named a Distinguished Dentist by the Ohio Dental Association, and receiving the OSU Heinlen Alumni Award, given to alumni who have achieved superb records of university advocacy. Dr. Rummel has served as president of the ODA and the Columbus Dental Society, and he has held multiple leadership roles in the American Dental Association. The College of Dentistry congratulates Dr. Rummel for his lifetime of service in dentistry, and for being an accomplished and inspirational alumnus, colleague, and friend. RELATED NEWS
