Dr. Sarandeep Huja
• Associate Professor, DDS, PhD

Dr. Sarandeep Huja is an Associate Professor and the Graduate Program Director in the Division of Orthodontics at The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Dentistry. He also holds an appointment in the Oral Biology PhD Program and a Courtesy appointment in Material Sciences and Engineering at OSU.

Dr. Huja initially received his dental (1987) and orthodontic (1992) training from the Government Dental College and Hospital, Bombay. From 1993-2001, he was associated with three US institutions, receiving his MS (1995) from Marquette University, Milwaukee, his PhD (1999) and Orthodontic Certificate (1999) from Indiana University, Indianapolis and his DDS (2001) from University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, Lincoln. He is a recipient of the Fields Teaching and Research Award from the College of Dentistry at OSU (2004) and other awards for scholastic and research excellence from Indiana University (1998). He is an advisor for both PhD and Masters graduate students.

Dr. Huja is the PI on grants from the NIDCR, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Association of Orthodontist Foundation. His research seeks to understand bone adaptation to physical forces. His clinical interests include skeletal anchorage, biomechanics of tooth movement and an interdisciplinary focus to treating patients with compromised malocclusions. He is currently on the Editorial Review Board of the American Journal of Orthodontics and an ad hoc reviewer for various journals including Journal of Dental Research, Bone and Journal of Biomedical Materials Research. Dr. Huja has been invited to present his research at International/National meetings. Dr. Huja is an active participant in the orthodontic Dental Faculty Practice at OSU. email
