What is the Volpe Prize?

The Volpe Prize, which is named in honor of Anthony Volpe, is a 3,500 US Dollar award presented for the best clinical research in periodontology by students in dentistry. One abstract from each dental academic institution in North America (Canada, Mexico and the United States) will be accepted for review by a panel of 5 judges. From these abstracts, 12 finalists will be selected to make oral presentations at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio on May 17, 2013. Each finalist will provide a 15-minute presentation based on the abstract, followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer period. Each finalist will receive a $500 travel grant and the winner of the competition will receive the cash prize and a certificate of recognition.
