Postdoctoral Non-Degree Programs

At The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, we offer programs and courses for dentists who are interested in furthering their knowledge in specialized areas without pursuing the MS degree or a certificate program. These include the General Practice Residency and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship as well as the college’s Continuing Dental Education program – all located in the nation’s most comprehensive health sciences center.

We also offer less formal internships, fellowships, preceptorships and observerships in other dental specialties. Please feel free to contact individual academic divisions for more information.

General Practice Residency

The General Practice Residency is a one-year program with an optional second year, designed to provide experience in hospital dentistry and management of medically compromised, disabled and elderly patients.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Our four-year program offers substantial experience in the full scope of both major hospital maxillofacial procedures and outpatient clinical surgery and anesthesia for adults and children.

Continuing Dental Education

The Office of Continuing Dental Education is committed to providing lifelong learning opportunities through evidence-based educational programs that help dental professionals remain current with new knowledge and innovations.
