Kyulim Lee, DMD, PhD, Receives NIDCR Clinical Research Award
Dr. Kyulim Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry, and she is a member of the pediatric dental team at Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH). Her education includes a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and a Master of Science degree and certificate in pediatric dentistry from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Continuing her dental professional education, Dr. Lee earned a PhD in microbiology and immunology from the University of Florida College of Medicine.
As a faculty member in the college and a dental team member at NCH, Dr. Lee is a clinical practitioner and a researcher. Her interests focus on examinations of bacterial genetics/genomics and microbial ecology in the context of human health and disease, as well as investigations related to the oral microbiome in pediatric patients undergoing hematopoietic cell transplant.
Recently, Dr. Lee received a Clinical Research Loan Repayment Program Award from the NIDCR - National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. The award supports the recruitment and retention of highly qualified health professionals by repaying educational debts for those who engage in research that is relevant to the National Institutes of Health.
