Students Receive Team Jackets for Service to Athletics
Three Student Team Dentists received Ohio State team jackets as a thank-you for their hard work.
The jackets were presented at the annual Student Team Dentist dinner last month. During the year, the students worked closely with Team Dentist and Clinic Director Dr. Debra Mendel and the Athletics Department to help care for Buckeye athletes. The jacket tradition was started many years ago by the late Allen Hall, ’55 DDS, Ohio State’s first team dentist. Dr. Hall was also a former assistant dean for Academic Affairs.
Although Dr. Hall’s wife, Mrs. Helen Hall, could not attend this year, Dr. Mendel and faculty members conveyed her thanks. Dr. Mendel has served as team dentist since 2000. She has worked with more than 50 student dentists. She has also helped provide over 40,000 mouth guards for Ohio State athletes.
